Yellow stands in for wheat, while the color blue symbolizes the sky. One of the most basic colors, blue and yellow flags in the world, is the Ukrainian flag, which features two horizontal stripes of blue and yellow that are equal in size. The white flag has been renamed as a symbol of the country since 1991 and has since become the official national flag since 1992. Nevertheless, time has passed since Ukraine became a member of the Soviet Union. The original blue and yellow flags were no longer flown from 1922 to 1991, when Ukraine was a part of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic. This simple bicolor layout was used in 1848. The National Flag of Ukraine is divided into alternating bands with blue and were bands on both sides.
